Israeli forces kidnapped six Palestinians, including five members of Hamas

Obama: Middle East Peace Hard to Accomplish



JERUSALEM - President of the United States (U.S.), Barack Obama felt peace in the Middle East becomes a difficult problem to solve. Obama said it was a press conference with the Prime Minister (PM) of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, Wednesday (20/3).

Obama admitted that he believes can do things differently when it comes to the Middle East. But he was pessimistic could bring peace in the region. "Peace is a very difficult problem to solve, either because they have been going for over 60 years," he said as quoted by AP.

Though even so, he denied that the failure of the first stage agreement between Israel and the Palestinians as a mistake. According to him, all parties have interests and internal politics between the two countries. Just like he did.

The series of Obama's visit in the Middle East begins on Wednesday (20/3) and lasted for three days. He will visit Israel, the West Bank, Bethlehem and Jordan. He is scheduled to go to the West Bank on Thursday (21/3). Then he ended the visit on Friday (22/3).

U.S. will Continue His army presence in Asia Pacific



WASHINGTON - The United States will not relinquish its influence in the Asia Pacific region. U.S. presence there, called the country as a balancing measure of the region, where China's rise as a world power are frequently conflicted

This policy is in accordance with United States Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter in Jakarta, Wednesday (20/3) is realized by increasing the military presence in the region. Still, he acknowledged the country's defense budget was reduced due to the economic crisis.

China alone will spend about 114 million U.S. dollars this year, up 10.7 percent from 2012. China's military budget increase comes amid dispute with Japan and some Southeast Asian countries over several islands in the South China Sea.

In the midst of that, Carter explained, the United States will increase its military presence in the Asia Pacific region.
