WASHINGTON - Residents of the United States (U.S.) said President Barack Obama should increase the pressure on the Palestinians to make peace with Israel. For U.S. citizens, a big mistake when the pressure is actually directed at Israel.
In the midst of President Obama's planned visit to Israel, most U.S. citizens asking the first black U.S. president was to select press the Palestinian Authority. 48 percent of Americans judge Obama pressure should be directed to the Palestinians, for peace in the Middle East can be achieved and they refused when the pressure is directed to Israel.
According to a poll conducted by the Gallup survey, approximately 25 percent of Americans judging Israel was supposed to have pressure on Obama. While 18 percent of Americans said the pressure to make peace should be addressed to either Israel or Palestine. So reported the Associated Press, Tuesday (19/03/2013).
Polls also showed declining support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Approximately 44 percent of Americans are showing their support. These results are down from a similar poll conducted in 2009 and 2012 and then, which indicates the number of 51 percent.
But Americans also reject the establishment of a Palestinian state this year. 37 percent of residents balked at supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state and Israel as the sole ruler.
Obama is scheduled to begin three-day visit to Israel on 20 March. The visit is Obama's first visit to Israel as long as he leads the U.S..
After meeting with Netanyahu, Obama is scheduled to go to the city of Jerusalem and the West Bank to meet with Palestinian officials.
While in the Middle East, Obama will address indicated no Middle East peace initiative in Israel. According to Obama, his visit was not intended to address specific issues.
